Organization
Color Guard Netherlands is a fast growing organisation. It is unbelievable to see how fast everything has been going the last few years. From 16 participating units in 2001 to almost 70 this year. CGN is a part of KNFM.

What is the KNFM ?
The Koninklijke Nederlandse Federatie van Muziekverenigingen (Royal Dutch Federation of Amateur Musical Groups) is a large organization, that is the mother-organization  of a large number of music and dance related activities in The Netherlands. In this structure Color Guards and Indoor Percussion Ensembles are combined with twirl groups, brassbands, woodwindbands, drum & bugle corps, etc.  KNFM also has a homepage (in Dutch!).

CGN
Color Guard Nederland is being lead by a taskforce. In principal this is the board guiding all the operations on a day-to-day basis.
The taskforce now consists of:

Paul Doop Chairman
Peter Jan de Werk Secretary/PR
Edwin Haddeman Treasurer
Femke Goedhart Organizational
Vera Brusse Organizational
Niels Merkx Indoor Percussion
Edwin Beens Technical
Brian Yothers Technical

Besides this board, there is technical committee for Color Guard and for Indoor Percussion and a Technical Platform that also consists of instructors from units.

Rules & Regulations

The CGN Organization publishes a Handbook containing the judging manual and all agreements, rules, the philosophy, etc. This is published in Dutch only. However most of it is similar to Winter Guard International (WGI). It is our philosophy to follow WGI as much as possible. We apply all rules on the Dutch situation.

Exceptions are the age-rule, which for now is not applied in any class but the Cadet Class. This class is similar to the Regional A Class. We also have a Prep Class using Regional A criteria for new units taking their first steps on the floor.
